just what the title says,
Has anybody put new ground wires in their engine bay? Mine are looking all frayed and old and skinny. My buddy put new grounds in his MR2 3SGTE and he said it smoothed out his idle. anybody else?

I'm working on a grounding wire kit for our cars using nice 4 gauge wiring.

If you want Cool, or Bling, get a kit.
The sky is the limit for Expense, or extra cheap ends from an audio
store for a ghetto set up. :)

You Can get some wire from an audio store, jumper cables
or welding supply, JWhitney etc and just make your own.
Red +, black -, easy. I use gold battery clamps for +
and silver for -, just for a bit of show.

IMHO, most improvement comes from cleaing the
grounding point of rust, dirt, grime etc...

A bigger wire May help if you are running a mondo
stereo of a high power ignition system.

I use 4 gauge for engine and alt. grounds and alt-battery+
Nothing like an afternoon with some some wire and a crimper....

Of course there Have been articles in magazines that
have Dyno results 'Proving' increased Hp with ground kits.
If you beleive Everything you read in magazines ? :)

(Not attacking Anyone. Just, there Have been Several
people hawking "Ground kits" on Several boards
promising the world of benefits... )

Regards;

well, after just that, a fun afternoon with some wire and a crimper. I succeded in replacing all my grounds with either 4AWG or 8AWG wire. It could just be my mind playing tricks on my, But the car does seem to idle quite a bit smoother. it seems quieter too. One thing I DID notice however, is that my idle speed jumped 200RPMS. which means that the olds grounds were making my engine sad :( ...

...but its happy now :D

Can you guys post pictures of your setups?

BTW, I'm the guy that wants to come out with a kit for out cars, but only if I can have it reasonably priced.
