Stock 6th and 7th Gen Celica Wheel Info

Hey guys,

I'm interested in getting a set of dedicated autocross/track wheels/tires and stock 6th or 7th gen Celica wheels look to be the cheapest option.

Can you guys tell me the:

1) Width
2) Offset
3) Weight

of the 15" 5-spoke 6th gen wheel, 15" GT rim from the 7th gen and the 16" 7th gen GT-S wheels?

I read a post somewhere on here that said the 15" 5-spoke 6th gen wheel was 7 inches wide, but I wanted to verify that.

Thanks.

i don't recommend 7th gen gts rims because the rim itself was like 22 pounds (when i weighed the rim, might have been 19 like gary said).

also 16x6.5" doesn't leave much room for fat tires.

That's interesting that they went to a 7" wide 15" rim for the 6th gen. Too bad the offset isn't as low as the other Celica wheels.

Anyone know the weight of the 6th Gen 15x7 wheel?

I run the 6th gen OEM 15x7" rims on my 165 with 205/55/15s.
Gary's right, they are +45 offset, whereas stock for my 165 is +39. They rubbed the rear struts, so I had to use thin 1/8" spacers. No biggie :smokes:
PS - I weighed them before but don't recall how much, sorry.

Also, note that the 7th gen GTS rims are +39mm offset.

Thanks for the info, Rick.

Would you say that they are over or under 20 lbs. each?

And does anyone know if they would fit an ST185 without any rubbing or fitment issues due to the 45 mm offset? Especially if I put a 215 or even 225 tire on there?

I'll weigh one of them tomorrow and post up again.
What is the stock wheel size and offset for the 185?
If you know that, you can compare it against the 15x7" (205/55/15) +45mm offset to get a pretty good idea.

I'd say right about 20 lbs for rim only.
The 7th gen rim + tire = 37 lbs total.

Nice thats what i'm going to do for my winters. Do you think i could get 235/245 with the gts rim. Very nice alltrac btw

i would have to say no to the 235/245s on the gts rims because when the tire shop was doing my gts rims they had a hell of a time even getting 215s on. also i would think 235/245s would be way to wide of a tire to run on a 6.5" wide rim assuming you are talking about the 7th gen gts rims.

Hm.... does anyone have a benchmark as to what the stock ST165 and St185 wheel/tire combo weighs? I wasn't able to weigh mine, but having that benchmark might be a good thing for those looking for lighter wheels.

I know the 5th Gen lugnuts fit the 7th gens, and vice versa...but have no idea about the 6th gens. Im presonally running the 5th gen lugnuts with the 7th gen gts wheels. I think it looks ok, even though the lugnuts are deff longer.

I've got the following that I can weigh:
ST165: stock 14x6 w/ 205/60/14
6th Gen 15x7 w/ 205/55/15
7th Gen 16x6.5 w/ 205/50/16
Can't do it today but will post again on the weekend....

4th, 5th, 6th, 7th Gen lugnuts all fit each other but not perfectly.
I have a 165 and have put the 6th & 7th Gen wheels on my car. Here is what I found out about the interchange of the lugnuts:

The 4th Gen lugnuts fit the 6th Gen wheels perfectly.
The 4th Gen lugnuts stick out a bit on the 7th Gen wheels.
I have factory 7th Gen lugnuts and they are definitely shorter than the 4th & 6th Gen ones. Clear as mud?

PS - Wasn't able to weigh the wheels yet, will post up again when I do....
