Hello everyone! I've run into an electrical problem and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem

Suppose you have the stock ECU, so you have the resistor packs. Lookes like this: https://shop.rat2motorsports.com/products/resistor-pack-and-starter-relay-91-92-3sgte-mr2?variant=41483399430337 If you bridge the fuel pump, you bypass the fuel pump resistor. If she starts, then you have an...

Hello everyone! I've run into an electrical problem and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem

Does the car have the stock resistor packs? Fuel pump and injectors? Did the car start when you bridged the fuel pump? And why did you suspect the timing jumped? Timing does not jump out off the blue. Did the engine back fire? Belt broke? Too little information.

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

She is in the car, mounts are made, coolant filled and tested, no time for an decent test drive yet. The top hose needed to be cut off about 1 or 2 cm. The Mishimoto is much thicker than the old Ron Davis radiator and with the stock length there was an nasty bent in the hose. Bottom hose is...

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Made custom brackets for the Spal to fit the Mishimoto. Works good now. Installed in the car and fired her up last evening. Fans did work and no leakage, looks good. Now reinstall the other parts and she should be good.

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Ordered an Spal fan at an local shop. Hope to get it soon. Contacted Mishimoto about the fan problem and now they ask me about pictures etc. I will do that later on. In the mean time I swapped the thermostat for the new Mishimoto one and make me some radiator brackets, since the old ones were...

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Thanks for your warning. You are correct, the fan does not fit the Mishimoto. My fan was already modified for the Ron Davis radiator, but it does fit nowhere on the Mishimoto radiator. Contacted Mishimoto about what fan to order, I think that is the best solution.

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Cooling problems. The 20 year old tripple pass Ron Davis radiator is leaking. At the same time I saw that the TRD thermostat is stuck too, no good. After a long ride, the next morning, there is a lot off coolant on the floor below the radiator. Perhaps the rad cap too, dunno. Anyway, got...

    ST185 ATA Safe Boost Level

IMHO, safe levels depends on other mods too. With only raising boost, I would not go over 12 psi. With other basic upgrades like: EVC, free flowing exhaust, airfilter and fuelpomp mod, I would go 14 psi max. Pretty fast above stock. But, the ST185 is not an real fast car. If you want her faster...

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Problem solved. Rebuilded the regulator and installed fuel pressure (with no vac) at 3 bar. Checked A/F cruising and under load, all good.

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Another problem occurs. Sometimes the car smells at fuel. Couldn't find it. Two weeks ago, started the car and again lots of smell. Popped the hood and saw fuel dripping from the Malpassi adjustable fuelpressure regulator. Lookes like this one...

ST185 AC system overhaul with photos

Very nice work. Once I replaced my heater core in the core unit (no airco) and I removed the entire dashboard. It looks you were able to remove the core without removing the dash?

    Will not spark!

What do you mean by that? The coil has two wires, one with power and one ground. And ofcourse the thick one for the distributor cap. If you tried everything it can be in the wiring: https://www.mr2oc.com/threads/code-14-run-out-of-ideas.260272/

    T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Took out the fanhousing this weekend. This because I was still struggeling with cold air entering the cabin somewhere around this housing. Removing is an challenge because the most top bolt is behind the dash and an heating vent pipe. Anyway, after some nasty words and lots of sweat, I managed...

Cold air flow passenger side ST185

Anybody experienced this? My car is an LHD and old. So now it is about 0°C over here and I noticed this before, so I swapped the interior radiator. Made new seals for the old air vents, etc, etc. But, the drivers gets real hot air, the vents for the passenger too, but somewhere behind the...
