Just FYI, zunzal had a 4th gen 3sgte swap in the car. did you upgrade it (signature) or is it still gen 4? Interested because normally the gen5 TMIC argues with the ST185 hood and i'm seeing if it can be done without risers for Mirum lol
With all that said, you make a good point about my signature! If We go by what Zunzal says, there is no gen 5. But, on this forum and other places commonly refer to the most modern version of the 3SGTE as a generation 5 engine. That is why I signed as I did. Perhaps, I should change it. Opinions please, I am as previously stated, in many ways a newbie to this car and engine. I take no credit for the build of this great machine, as it is. Zunzal gets that. I have been in regular contact with him, in order to learn more about my car and for details to best keep it in the fine running condition in which I received it. Btw, I have begun a new thread about the AC system overhaul that I successfully did accomplish and can accept credit for, along with much assistance from my good friend and professional mechanic, Noah!

No sweat, I'm just wondering if somebody fit a gen 5 3sgte in an ST185 with TMIC on without modifications. I'm looking to do something similar to Mirum without changing to FMIC, but the placement of the IC and the clock of the turbo makes that near impossible. Doug at wiregap can do the immobilizer delete no issue. Last I saw a Gen5 (ST246) motor in an ST185 they had to make some serious hood risers. Gen 4 3sgte fits with the ST185 hood without much modification needed. I had to bend up a support beam on Lazarus to get it to fit properly, but still works great. Also, glad to hear about the AC overhaul and I did read up on that thread.

I'm having a "Gen 5" 3S-GTE put in the Lorelei this summer, but with FMIC. After struggling with heat soak and intake temperatures, my opinion is that TMIC is for the birds. It was just a bad decision on Toyota's part.

To Luv, How are you liking the power that "Gen 5" plant is giving you?

Thanks for reading my AC post! I like that your fleet has some interesting colors as well as names. Let me know if I can help with photos or info. You could also try reaching out to Zunzal for details.

So far I am very pleased with the power and acceleration when I drive. We have had a relatively cool spring so far. It will be interesting to see how things go when the summer heat comes on. Best wishes with Lorelei, looking forward to seeing more posts about the project!

Thanks! I have chatted with him on insta a few times, I'll probably go the Roreri route myself with FMIC but I do really like the preserve the functionality of the alltrac hood... otherwise going CS bumper/hood combo is the way for sure.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but maybe I'll start up Mirum again - that's not a bad idea or do the transmission cooler lines and go up top :ROFLMAO:
No worries, I like seeing any action on my threads. Beside, I think this one might be playing out anyhow. Thanks again

Hey Friend. Congrats on your Alltrac. Its going to be awesome from here on. Good luck with her and keep it up.
Thanks Marlon, sorry for the slow response, life has kept me busy. Recent news, did first since I got it, oil change on Monday. I do them myself on my vintage Toys. Used Valvoline VR1 oil and genuine Toyota oil filter, as previous owner did.

BTW, I saw an old post of yours titled, “rare items”. In it you mention a roof spoiler, and rear window louvers. The photos of those items will no longer display. Any chance you could upload pic of them? Preferably on a car, but solo would be ok too. Or just refer me to any photos showing theses accessories. I do not believe I have ever seen them. Thanks, if you can help!

Wow, those are rare. I've seen a couple people with the roof spoiler but I don't think I've ever seen photos of the rear window louvers installed before
