T-vis gone bad, engine damaged

Sure, unfortunately this did not solve the problem :-( .
Installed the grommet and before installing everything I added a little water in the tank and guess what..... still dripping ... sigh.

Tried to take a closer look but nothing to see. Bummer, that means removing the tank from the car. Pretty much work.
Since my car is equipped with the headlight washers, I was really hoping the tank is okay = new is not available anymore.

After fighting about an hour the windshieldwashertank was on the floor.
Installed the grommet and pump in the tank and dripping again??? Nothing to see at the tank, that one is intact.

Took a closer look, but water is dripping between the inlet from the windshieldwasher pump and (new) grommet. Really...!
If I remove the pump and push my finger on the grommet, there is no dripping.... sigh again.

I will try some silicon sealant tomorrow. Since my old silicon was hardened I need to buy new sealant.

Always a challenge :)

Well now, silicon sealant did not do the trick either, sigh.

Just to check: I installed the old broken pump and guess what.... no leaking.

Appears that the new Toyota window washer motor is leaking at the bottom. So I asked Impex (where I bought this pump) what to do.

I guess you could dry and clean it really well and skin it with JB Weld. It’s not where anyone will see it, so appearances don’t matter. You could cut a piece of plastic to that shape and JB Weld it to be more certain sure.

Probably, but that is my second choice.
First I contacted Impex.jp and see if they want the pump back or not. Patience :)

Too bad, Impex is pulling away and leaves me in the dust. So I am going to try to skin the pump.

It’s not a BAD option, just be thorough in cleaning and pick good materials. I would go with Marine JB Weld, and a piece of 1/8” thick plastic cut to the same size as the bottom of the pump. Then once done, put a second bead around the seam. If looks are important you could take a file to it and finish it out, and black spray paint.

This won’t fix problems inside the pump, of course. If water is getting where it shouldn’t then it’s a matter of time until other issues arise.

Made custom brackets for the Spal to fit the Mishimoto. Works good now. Installed in the car and fired her up last evening. Fans did work and no leakage, looks good.
Now reinstall the other parts and she should be good.

Which Spal fan did you go with?

I got this answer from them:
Unfortunately, the warranty for spare parts from Japanese manufacturers does not apply to parts exported from Japan and/or installed not by an official dealer.

Interesting. By the way, how did they turn out as a seller? Any cases where the product was in backorder? Wanted myself to order some parts as well, but was afraid when learned that they're Russians mostly, operating in Japan.

They are very cheap and sofar reliable. Bought several times there since 2020. Mostly for my Honda and Yamaha bikes.

This is not meant to be a harsh chide just a tired older dude who’s wrestled with black, white, and grey for a long time.

When the Ukraine thing went down all the Russian Federation alltrac parts suppliers were embargoed. They had to get clever. Whether the parts are above board or stolen or regular business or vory fronts you never can tell. Hell. I had a last minute hesitation after deposit but before buying that my whole JDM GT-Four had been stolen and then exported to the US. That’s the nature of the car world. If you want to feel really bad your phone has some slave labor in it. Just the shitty world we’ve always lived in. I always thought it an interesting economic tell that it was a viable thing to chop cars and sell the parts individually.

What a time we live in... and we'll live in. Interesting though. Do you know any good and reliable alltrac parts suppliers?

If I did I'd be tempted to keep it to myself, because they are uncommon as hell. GT4Heaven has a fair number of parts but as they are UK one they tend to be rusty and two the shipping is hell.
