Toyota 86 with 3sgte swap

Has anyone picked up the new super street mag?
On page 46 there is a toyota 86 with a 3rd or 4th gen 3sgte swap and subaru 4 pot brakes.
I can't find any info on it, has anyone seen this online?

This month's issue is a Honda Issue. Are you sure? P46 has a red Integra in it. What month issue are you talking about?

Ah. That was last month's issue. I didn't even notice it. That loud yellow Jag caught my attention though, lol. I ask myself why they even bothered with the 3SGTE swap. They should have just boosted the engine that came in the car. Better aftermarket and weight distribution ihmo. I'm sure lighter too.

Well, if it was a third or forth gen motor they may have wanted the newer technology.

I haven't seen the build, but most that I have seen with the 3s seem to move the motor back, so weight distro is probably not an issue.

How easy is it to get 240 out of a 4a?

^ it's a new Scion/Subaru FRS/BRZ, not an AE86 Corolla. They may have wanted to move the weight back a bit and ditch the modern electronics. If you're building a track car I'd imagine it's easier to rewire the older tech than the new stuff.

along with my Celica's I also own a gt86, I have contemplated a 3sgte conversion, though it would be lexus IS beams, turbo'd,

with 2j's, 1uz's, and LS engines, going into these, its refreshing to see something different,

though I have another option for mine when the time comes......

I would gladly throw a 3s into my brz haha.
I can't find the build anywhere online, I'm curios what components were used to get everything to work.
