Does anybody drive on FF mode at ST185?

You can dyno in 2WD mode for sure, that's the reason it's there.mison":2px1w8c9 said:

On the dyno people have gone people go allot faster then 60km/hr in FF mode. When doing FF mode make sure you put the bolt back in to lock it in place. One guy changed it to FF mode but didn't bolt the lever back down, while on the dyno running the car the lever moved and the trans exploded.

But I don´t know, if my car is ok or not. I did bought it, and it was not run, I do not drive ST185 before..Some peoples here said, it is ok, but for me it seems to be slow and with no power :shrug:
I thought if you put in FF mode, you're not supposed to move the rear wheels (hence, dyno only, not driving) because something about messing up the transfer/rear diff.
Secondly, you're not supposed to tow on two wheels (rear or front), which is why you would need a flat bed.
I don't know why exactly, i know it's vague. maybe someone can vouch.

For dyno testing only, the two wheel setting can not support constant use and damage to transmission will occur if left in that position. Also, I believe I read that only a certain amount of power from the engine can be used while on the dyno.
Basically, if you are not sure and are not a Toyota tech then it should be left alone.

There's a thread on here with all the details about it, but long story short DO NOT DO IT or you will blow things up in your trans and have a very bad time. I believe the main issue comes from the rear wheels turning, thus causing the driveshaft to turn, thus causing the rear output side of the center diff to be turning when it's not supposed to be. If you removed the driveshaft you *might* be able to do it, but then you may damage your rear diff, and honestly who the hell buys an AWD car and then want to drive it around in FWD?
