Overheating after awhile of traffic. It killed my car today. Car won't start.

Anyone have ideas. Thermostat is a trd one and it might be the rad cap an issue.

Also thinking it's the heater core causing the problem. Anyone please help

did you bleed the system?
any leaks?
do you get hot air?
does running heat lower engine temps?
are the fans decent? not ebay crap that have 1/4th the CFM

Use a stock temp thermostat
bleed the air out of the system

car not starting is a common issue in the Celicas, the 12V line gets heat soaked and does not send a strong enough signal to start the car. Solution is to install a rely, wrap the wire in insulation, or just keep it cranked for 30 seconds, if it doesnt star, pop the hood and let it cool off for 5 minutes.

Bleed no
Leaks no
Hot air in the car.... When it wants to which is nearly never
Fans are mishimoto electric slim fans
I'll put the stock thermostat back

Sounds like you have air in the system.

I had these same problems! I replaced pretty much the whole cooling system with a aluminum Radiator, 170 degree lower temp thermostat, water pump, two 12" slim fans and bled the system of air

I would be concerned that you blew the headgasket if you let it overheat to the point of dying. I did that with my ol 89' GT.

One other thing is make sure you wired the fans the right way, if you have them blowing backwards the air can't flow through the rad.
