Thanks, those are testing for door closed right? Is there a test for door open also?

So I was poking around and found a hard vaccum line that is either missing a cap or a line and a line near it that is looped to another one that just doesn't look right to me. I pulled up a vacuum diagram but it isn't showing the two lines that are looped only one??

I also found a sensor that isn't connected to anything.

So the big question is what are these?

I may be wrong but I believe your looped vac ports are for the EGR system. . the vacant tube originally would have connected to the passenger side port (P) and the left (E) one would have connected to a solenoid.

Mine are capped but I guess looping them is the same?

Those two vacuum lines looped together, one goes to the vsv for your charcoal canister and one goes to the vsv for the egr valve. I don't remember what that sensor is for though.

So that sensor is the EGR temperature sensor..... so if it is plugged in and sitting there reading just the temp of the engine bay what would that do.

The EGR has been removed (I just got the car so i'm still learning this engine)

if that one hard line isn't hooked up to wear it is supposed to be i'm wondering what that would do?

And When poking around to make sure the EGR was all gone I found another sensor that seems like it should have a line or something coming off of it.

So now the next question is what is this?

Do you still have a charcoal canister? Either way. . If it's not connected properly or the entire system is missing, you could smell gas fumes from the tank (my guess).

Where is this located? or was it just loosely laying?

Have you replaced the O2 sensor?

I haven't, i'm checking with the previous owner though to see if he had, he replaced a lot of parts but ran out of time and patience on it.

I don't believe that he did but waiting on his reply.

That vsv is the one for the egr valve. Shown in that diagram I sent. Mines broken the same way lol

so basically it doesn't do anything at this point even if it is plugged in or should I unplug the sensor?

Check engine light has never come on so I never jumped the ports.

You should be able to just unplug them since theyre not doing anything. And the light doesn't come on for every code.

for some reason the ST165 repair manual doesn't have the AFM testing in it it says to look in the ST162 manual for that, which I don't have.

Never seen that before.

Haha I've run into that problem so many times with the service manual. I actually just bought a st162 one that should be delivered today or tomorrow. I'll see if it's in there.

found the 162 manual..... AFM tests out fine with door open and closed.... now on to fuel pressure but the pump is supposed to be new.

Not quite sure how to test the fuel pressure on this thing as the tester in the BGB doesn't have an attachment like mine.
