The water intake pipes for the ST185 3sgte.

Part Number - 16027-88381

I have just got my hands on the bran new Mamba braided oil and water lines for the 3sgte turbo charger.

On the original Toyota part the section that meets the turbo, has one long pipe that is inserts in to the turbo to help circulate the water.

On the new Mamba water lines the section that meets the turbo is completely flat!

Its won't circulate water as intended, I don't think its safe?

Any alternatives or advice please.

It'll be fine.
I've run a ct20b without water cooling at all for 5yrs now. No issues :)

The water cooling was mainly there to stop the oil burning and leaving residues after engine-shutdown.
Synthetic oils have basically fixed this problem.

If it can survive what MWP puts his car through, it'll be just fine for anyone else.

Hah, i wouldn't go quite that far.
It does see some abuse, but really i don't put that many miles on it.

Finally found a good image of what I am talking about on this thread,

The original turbo water lines have a longer section that inserts in to the turbo to circulate water correctly.

The new flanges don't have this at all its completely flat.

The like that inserts is the pressure side and requires an oring. It is backed up by the fibre gasket that is used on the flat part.

A good gasket will seal the flat connection. Any leak is more likely to occurs between the two lines essentially giving a second loop.

Hi, here is a picture of the new flanges.

Is anyone on here running one of these?

Are they cool? Why did they not include the pressure side insert?
