Whats the procedure to check the timing on the car? do i have to jump some diagnostic pins and then adjust for timing to 0 at idle? And how do i adjust it, just move the distributor?

Warm up the engine. Jump the TE1 and E1 pins in the diagnostic box near the driver's side firewall. Clip on a timing light to the #1 spark plug wire. You should see 10 degrees on the timing belt cover. Remove the jumper, and you should see 12 to 21 degrees.

Timing is adjusted by rotating the distributor cap. Note: one of the bolts holding down the distributor is tough to see, let alone get a socket on.
