Inconsistency with ST185 tire size

Postby 80's Kid » Tue Mar 27, 2018 7:34 am

I have found different sources claiming separate wheel sizes for the All-trac ST185.

1010tires and tirerack both list the size at 215/50/15, but this website http://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/ ... -trac.html lists it at 215/60/15.

I have the original owner's manual as well as the repair books, but I can't find anything about tire size in either of them.
Either way, I'm thinking of going with these tires: https://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Firesto ... 500/011969 but they're 16 inch vs the standard 15, would I get any problems with that if I go do some off-roading and the suspension gets a lot of travel? Then again, those tires don't look that great for dirt use...

Isn't there a tire info sticker in the glove box? If not, what about the door jamb?

Thanks, found it in the glove compartment. 215 50 15 is the right size after all.

What tire sizes do you guys go with typically? I'm looking at 205/50/16.

It will vary from wheel and tire preference, the important thing to be sure of is that the aspect ratio of the spare closely matches what you currently or will have mounted in the event you have to use it. That's something I feel is probably an afterthought to some.

I'm using 205/55/16 since I wanted them to be interchangeable with my 07 impreza.

Its within a few % for mph so its good enough for me.

Alright, thanks. I'll go with the 205/50/16 size then for my car.
