What up guys, my 1990 Alltrac has a Viper Alarm (771xv), and whoever installed made it work ok, but he left a jungle of wires under the steering wheel, I had to do some serious cable management. The remote (488v, 2way) was in a key strap and accidentally smashed with the door. I order a replacement remote 7141v (1 way) and based on the viper website it says its supported with my system.
Well, when I try to program the new remote per instructions, using the valet switch, I hear the speaker chirp, but when I press the lock key to doesn't recognize the remote. The alarm was working perfectly before breaking the old remote. When I did the cable management, I made sure everything was as connected correctly.
Any of you guys in this forum have a Viper alarm and know other methods of pairing the remote? I have a feeling that this new remote is not supported even though the website says it is or antenna failure?
