Who has the low down on lexan?

Since I am having a hard time finding a hatch glass for my alltrac, I am concidering lexan.

This company makes a formed lexan that is strong than glass and weighs half as much. It also has a coating that keeps it from foggin up so the rear defrosh is no longer an issue.

If I remember right, acylon has lexan in the rear hatch of his rally 165. You might ask him about how well it works.

We have lexan in our car.
Yes its light and its strong but it scratches like a Mother Fu*ker!!!

If you only have it in the rear window only it wont be so bad, but you do not want it in the front, the first time you use your wipers its screwed.

If they tell you its non-scratch/ anti-scratch ask them to demostrate.

"Racingshields" are used extensively in motorsport. They provided all of the windshields for the Crawford Daytona Prototype we worked on (and all of the Riley's and sports cars) and while they do scratch, their proprietary coatings seem to be better than most. The other thing to remember is that it will vibrate like a drum in that hatch if not reinforced properly.
