Schedule:

Plan to stay all day as you will be racing both AM/PM.

Bring gear for rain or sun (or snow?)

Fill up before you drive up. The closest gas station is in Maple Falls, 45 minutes down the mountain.

Directions:

1. I-5 north or south to Bellingham, WA - Take the "Mt. Baker" exit

2. Travel east on Hwy 542 for about 1.25 hours until you see the CSCC a-board (MP50)

3. Note: Sunset Dr turns into the Mt. Baker Hwy

KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN ON THE WAY TO AND FROM THE EVENT!
The State Partrol, Whatcom County Sheriff, and USFS will all be patroling on Sunday and will be looking for speeding/wreckless driving. You will get a ticket if you speed or drive wrecklessly. You will also not be allowed to participate and will be asked to leave the event if you are witnessed being an idiot on the Mt. Baker Hwy. Poor driving on your way up/down risks future events at this venue, so please respect the law and keep things under control.

How many alltracs will be there, because if I am going to drive all the way up to Bellingham there better be cars worth seeing, not a bunch of hondas. If it is worth it I try and convince my Dad, then I could show him the Western Campus.

Not sure how many Alltracs will be there but there could be some interesting cars. Not sure what is going to be there. It's either going to be a really small or really big but at this point we won't know until race day. I'll be bringing my AW11... I will caution you, however, the lot is pretty small when compared to most places so the courses are more geared for handling than speed.

The Mt. Baker Hwy and venue alone is worth the drive (if it isn't raining or foggy). There aren't too many places in the world where you can race with the backdrop of Mt. Shuksan and a hanging glacier. It looks just like the Alps. Mt. Baker is a little over an hour east of WWU. Here are some pictures from a few years ago...

What are you looking to study at WWU? Have you looked at the VRI (Vehicle Research Institute)? If you like cars be sure to take a tour... You'll see why... That's where I went and highly recommend it. :)
