Hmm interesting -
-no special license required - nice
-3pt seatbelt - assuming this is standard lap/shoulkder seatbelt?
-helmet needs Snell - need to check mine

So I would be in the SS4 class.... Can just a casual person participate? It appears yes, but then they have point standings listed on the forumn so I am unclear.

I've never been to a rallycross before but I've been told that it is basically an autocross on dirt. You probably don't want to compete if you care about your paint, are lowered, or have low profile rubber but other than that any street legal car in acceptable condition is fair game. I know they will probably be really picky about wheel bearing play and tire tread.

I've heard as many as 100 cars might be competing from some people that have attended prior events. I'm really excited this will be so close to home for a change!

Take lots of pictures!

And yes, rallycross is basically a autocross on dirt. They usually just take a field of some sort and mark it out with cones just like in autocross. You'll earn points even as a casual driver. They just don't matter if you don't plan on going to other events.

Yeah my concern is my low prrofile tires - paint is good - don't get me wrong, I love my paint, but I love putting my car through the paces, if it gets dirty - meh

Going to try to attend.

I would LOVE to do it but my Alltrac with be freshly painted, so I'll probably have to pass. Maybe I'll drive my 81 celica go so I can do it

Do you have a 81' coupe or hatch? I really, really want to find an 81' coupe. For some reason I really like those cars. I think they would make a great rally car and are only a few years away from being eligable for the Vintage class in performance rally...

Just to let everyone know... The event has been cancelled due to permiting issues. There will probably be a new date and location in a month or so... :(
