What do you think?

early 86s were kinda rare. i think they had all options... my cousin used to have a black one and it had the leather interior. i wouldnt mind. try to get the price lower.

Lower? The options in Vegas are a different car missing a passenger side door window for double the price and an automatic with a ripped fuel line for more as well. I'm sure if the engine is totally shot I can part this thing out for 3 times what I pay for it. (But that defeats my whole goal of obtaining a Celica Supra, heh.)

Still, doesn't hurt to try I guess. Left him an email to set up a meeting to check the car out. I like the double spoiler setup, P-Types, and five speeds, so this thing is pretty much what I've been wanting. However, I hate Toyota Red/Maroon interiors.

If you fully intend to take the the time and money to restore this thing, then I think you should do it.. Otherwise don't bother.. It's cheap for a reason..

My opinion is that this car is a heap and it'll take a substantial amount of time / money just to get it decent - Never mind the larger amount to go from decent to this:

I'm looking for a project vehicle, so it is right up my alley. I don't have any plans to spend $3000+ on a vehicle that's several states away at the moment because I have a lot of parts coming in for the Alltrac right now.

Congrats! Now you've got 2 money pits!

That's like saying, "Congrats! You wife is pregnant with some other guy's quintuplets!"

Now, just need an RX7 Turbo II (FC) and a first gen Celica GT liftback and my stable is complete! Oh, and gotta look out for a 7MGTE for this Celica Supra....

make sure that you get a good head gasket for the 7mgte...the stock head gasket breaks all the time...

The 7m is way off. I need to get this thing running right, and repair some of the body issues first.

Skip rebuild/refurb; go with a V8 ?

Keep it looking trashed, all the better to be " incogneeto " :smokes:

Good luck on Another project.

Nah, I'd prefer the 7MGTE over a V8. And things like cracked tail lights/corner lights and dents irritate the heck out of me. That and they gave me a screwdriver to start the car because the ignition tumbler is FUBARed.

However, the data plate indicates that the car came from the factory with a LSD. :D
