What an amazing week! First engine went in and now a correct color dashboard was at the pull and pay junkyard. Got a bunch of trim pieces as well.

Looks great! Stoked to see what you think about the 4th gen motor in the car. In the SW20 it's night and day.

Love my 3rd gen engine :) needs a valve cover gasket, but dropped in 1 at a time head studs, and some cams, with better fuel system and stand alone plus KO Racing Street Brawler turbo kit, she's making plenty of poop :) Good luck with yours! I had to do same tank restore, but changed to Walbro 450 fuel pump while I was at it. :)

Got a few more interior pieces from a GTS that showed up at the yard. Less sun damaged than mine

I learned the blue and the dark blue are not the same color even when faded. Bummer because I like the lighter color. These seats are comfortable though!

Finally got this fuel hose disconnected. Took heat and PB blaster to free the connections.

Unfortunately the plastic tube doesn't like the torch. This assembly is no longer available.

Now working on a really short 6AN fuel line. Like less than 6 inches after putting on the M14 adapters. Fun times

Got a lot of the ST205 engine wired up and only left coolant and fuel disconnected. Newer dashboard is in. Feeling good.

Only question. The stock ST165 radiator fan doesn't fit with the ST205 turbo location. Anyone have a hint on what fan to put in that little spot?

Lots of little things to tidy up but should be able to turn over the replacement engine soon. Got an extra day this weekend to make progress. Which is good because the next project shows up in two weeks. Why do I love golden era Toyotas so much? I owned Hondas back then but really have no interest in them. I need AWD/4WD on every vehicle now so that may be why.

Very nice! Have a friend with an FJ60 is his yard rusting (but still salvageable). Wish I had a big enough garage to work on it...but I don't. And can't afford 2 projects at the moment anyway. But man, I'd like to have one to do some camping trips with.

Not much of an update but...

Someone's well kept 1988 Celica GT was at the junkyard. Still complete minus the headers. Rear end accident put it in the junkyard.

Previous owner was generous to leave their spare parts and such inside the car. Thanks to that person I have a Toyota FSM for a 1988 Celica and another heat/ac module. Nice brand new factory sealed gas cap as well.

I'll be going back for the dashboard as it was in great shape with no cracks which is hard to find!

Lots of time spent on the Celica this week. Keep hitting road blocks but it's all good.

New plug wires seemed to fix the starting issue but I suspect the fuse block is a little wonky also.

Getting smoke from the exhaust manifold. Thought it was because rear muffler was clogged but after removing that I think the culprit is the exhaust gasket. Not a fun fix as the turbo and such is in the way.

Then again everything is in the way in this engine bay.

Found out that the ST165 throttle cable will not work on the ST205 engine. My engine didn't come with one so....Got lucky and one was on Ebay in Europe. For $150 used but it comes with the accelerator pedal so that's a bonus.

Lots to do inluding a new clutch master cylinder. The hardest one is routing the upgraded intercooler pump and heat exchanger
