Hi All,

I won the prior bat auction:

amazing car, drives great but some bad luck on the way home.

Luckily, the leak is high and I essentially just have a 12 g vs 16 g tank lol.

Would love advice and suggestions!

Hello and welcome! Didn't even know this car was on BAT, congrats on the win! Take some pictures of the tank and leak for us so we can check it out. There are shops that can refurb tanks in a professional way. Basically cut out the bad parts, weld in new and refurb. Costs a bunch, but it's well worth it. As for purchasing new, regardless of model - that's damn near impossible. Better off to send it to the pros for repair. Do not JB weld, that won't solve the damage issue and can further complicate things down the road... so to speak... especially if it's rot. I'd suggest checking some local metal repair shops and see what they say.

I've called all the local shops and they are either backed up for months or flat out won't do the work. I know JB weld isn't an ideal solution but I've basically given up on this tank. Worst case is 12 gallon tank, best case is it is patched enough to hold until I can get a part from a dead car. Found rust and leak from the filler tube/connector and I epoxied over it last weekend. There is one other spot leaking near the back of the tank that I will try to address sometime soon.

You have begun your own saga of AllTrac ownership. I wish you much pleasure of driving and good fortune in your labors.

That's a tight looking sled. Black is a great color for these.

My suggestion is get on a queue at a couple of those shops, and you have a 10G tank for now.

You might research and decide on a solution in the meantime.
