"Easier" and "working on an alltrac" don't seem to fit in the same sentence. A friend of mine that helps with lots of the work on the car is always amazed they could rally something so complex to take apart and fix.

The rally cars were new at the time so the didnt have all these issues we have... I second the only good thing is now you have to get an aftermarket downpipe. :)

Man, you guys are crazy, I wish most cars were as easy to work on as the Alltrac.

Try doing plugs or the valve cover gasket, or valve seals on the rear bank of almost any FWD V6, or a broken stud on either bank, or pretty much anything on most domestic FWD V6.
Or an oil pan on a 2.7 Tacoma [have to pull the trans AND the engine], or anything on the rear cylinders of a newer Camaro/Firebird, or resealing the timing cover on a 3.5 Toyota V6, or a bajillion other things.

The only things that are truly hideous are tightening the pwr steering belt and most things on the underside of the intake manifold.
Rust and broken bolts happen on any 15+ year old car, it's not an Alltrac specific thing.

+2. Having worked on a multitude of cars over my 42+ years (yes, I am old! :D ), the All Tracs for the most part aren't that bad. Age and prior care has a lot to do with the issues that we have. Although, I am inclined to believe that Toyota did use a lot of soft bolts on our cars. As some of you have heard from me before, I have had bolts break off that didn't have any load on them. Other than that, I can't complain much.

Never really had any major complaints working on the AT. I've had easier cars to work on and I've had harder. Most of my biggest issues are with the car specifically being from wisconsin.

^^^^^ +1!

I will never buy another car from Wisconsin again... The rust on this thing is terrible!

On topic: I totally agree with hotrod, nitro and alltracman on this... The 94 del sol that I've been helping a friend with was a total bi&*h. We had to cut the lower ball joint in half to get them out. And that's just a small example...
