Forged Carbon Fiber

I found this interesting.

As we push forward into the future, and with the likelihood of parts only becoming more rare, aftermarket 3D printed parts capable of handling mechanical stresses could be of use.

While forged carbon is interesting, I suppose my concern is how carbon responds to repetitive elastic deformation. Metal eventually crystallizes and becomes brittle--what does carbon fiber do--flake apart? The other concern I would have is resin longevity. I wonder what the endurance of carbon will be, and whether we will see things made from it.
