Project CMS
Re: Project CMS: Moving forward
Alright, I have a new paint shop in line. I am just waiting for my TRD acceptance to kick in before I start buying part. Once I get the parts, the car goes off once again. I have a rav4 spindle on the way too. I am watching another, but I might wait to purchase it until I test fit the first one.

Re: Project CMS: Moving forward
Can anyone verify if the toyota emblem for the RC/CS hood is the same as the alltrac version. If not, I need a part number please.
I am getting all my parts ordered so I can send the car off.

Re: Project CMS: Need a RC/CS part number
I have a CS hood in my garage with the emblem on it. they look to be the exact same size, etc. I can measure for sure and take a pic if you like when I get home.
Good Luck

Re: Project CMS: Need a RC/CS part number
Thanks. I suspect it is the same. I need to see if I can find my old one.
On another note, I decided we all need to do this at the next celica meet.

Re: Project CMS: Collecting parts
Thanks.
EDIT:
I found that DBA has an improved online catalog. You can now look up rotors by specs. This will help as I try and figure out the whole rav 4 braking solution.

We need to make sure there will be enough Celicas to do it...

Re: Project CMS: Did someone say 5x114?
Now I need someone to confirm that the rear axle splines are the same as the fronts, as I have found the rear wheel bearing are the same PN.
I might be doing this whole conversion all around.
EDIT: So far everything looks to bolt up, except one thing. The tire rod hole diameter is a little bigger, but I think its safe to assume I can just get a set of rav4 tie rod ends and be in business. I can always go custom if I need to.
I don't have a lot of time I can spend on this right now, but once I do, I will pop off the calipers and see how much further the 205 caliper sits above the rotor to get an estimate of rotor sizes that might fit and if I need to consider a bracket.

Waiting with bated breath for pics of test fit.
Approximately how much did the spindle run you?

Re: Project CMS: Did someone say 5x114?
very good info here.
i am curious as to what calipers will work.
large toyota 5x114.3 rotors are a breeze to find compared to 205 rotors (stateside)
i can think of Supra TT rotors, LS400 & Tundras off the top of my head, but am unsure of the center bore.
is the Rav4 center bore different than the ST185? since I know the ST205 is slightly larger.
