Project CMS
Done with the car for the day. I am pretty beat.
I made a bracket from some metal I got at home depot and trimmed up some wires. I have one last wire to deal with and I can't touch it till I make brackets for my heat exchanger.
Thats the next project.
In the morning I am looking into adapters for my wta IC lines. The IC hardlines are 7/8 where my lines are 3/4. I can make them fit with a heat gun, but I want to be able to remove them easier in the future.
Once I sort that out, the Ic goes back on, and I get to take it for a drive again, and test a theory I have on my PS vac lines.

Damn I am pissed.
I put everything together last night but the battery was dead. So I let it charge. My a/m relay was making a weird noise, but I figured it wasn't kicking over due to the lack of power.
I charged the battery last night, and cranked the car and the relay started smoking. I turned it off to prevent a fire. the wires were all HOT. I checked under the hood and a piece of metal waas touching my power point, which I guess caused a short. I think I burned up the relay. So remember kids, put inline fuses on everything.
I was also trying to fill up my intercooler and the heat echanger is leaking. I have no idea why. I am going to inquire on if there is a warranty. I might have to JB weld something.... damn it to hell.
On another note, I figured out a solution to my 7/8 to 3/4 adapter. I used a heat gun to put the 3/4 hose on the intercooler then just used a 3/4 splicer to be my removale point. That problem is solved.
So now, on to fixing my problems. Guess the car won't be on the road... yet.
Here is an updated pic of the painted engine bay with the new brackets and everything installed.

I guess. Are right and left axels interchangable?

I've heard they're the same and side by side they look alike but I've always marked them upon removal and put them in their marked locations.

Driver and passenger side axles look nothing alike on my 1990, but not sure if they're interchangeable...

From what I have learned, the axles swap either way.
I testd my heat exchanger. I think I found the leaks. The good leak was something loose, the bad leak is a small hairline crack where it was zip tied again the car. I think I can JB weld it and it will be fine.
So, I will fix that tonight, then its just a matter of me waitinf for my new relay and axle to come in.
I also ordered the UK side splitters for a lip project I will work on once the car is painted.

Did a little work today since it was nice out.
I made the pump bracket today. I used an old oem bracket for a 3s fuel filter. I also cleaned up the pump wiring. That was the last of the wiring I had to clean up, and I also took care of my short.
If I can do a little every day, I should be able to finish this thing.
Here is the pump bracket I made. I drilled 1 hold for one side, and used the bolt that the light motor mounts to. I also used a hose clamp to make the pump extra secure.

Made more progress today. I made 1 bracket for my heat exchanger. I also hooked up the IC water system. Everything is solid and no leaks. So thats good news.
I broke a bolt off the bracket I was going to have my 2nd heat exchanger bracket come from. So I have to get another one of those before I am done with the brackets. I was mounting it to the bottom of the A/C condensor brackets.
I also put in the new relay. No short or issues. There is now a big inline fuse to protect the relay now if anything happened.
I also put in my extended slave cylinder rod. No good directions on this. I found if you just unbolt the slave cylinder you can move it enough to replace everything. It went smooth till I tore a chunk out of my finger bolting it back on.
So, if the weather is good tomorrow I am going to take a crack at installing the new axle. I might go for a test drive first in the morning just cause its been a bit since I drove the car.

So I wanted to go for a test drive but ran the car out of gas. So it sits in the driveway for another day or two. Its friggin cold and might snow so I doubt I will run the car out. Wide summer tires + snow = no go, even w/ AWD.
I have been wonding about my total final drive since I have the RC final drive and I have the taller than stock tires. It makes 5th gear kind of high even for the extra power of a stock 205.
I do not plan on getting a smaller tire so I think when I do the clutch I will either do a new gearbox or lower final drive.

It seems that the RAV4 4.562 final drive would get my ratios closest to having a stock tire size/FD.
I will really consider this project once I decide to dive into the clutch project.
EDIT: Adding info on st205 stock RPMs for reference.

Put some gas in the car, but it still does not want to run. I have a feeling my battery is going shot. This always seems to happen whenever I drain an optima.
