Impressive rebuild. Keep it up. Are you planning on making the body kit yourself? And it looks like the ST185 you have is a wide body (from what I see).

18x9.5-18x10 size wheels should work fine without body work. But great rebuild nonetheless.

Yes I would have to make that body kit myself as those wheels are 12" wide coupled with a 2" spacer in order to get that kind of width. So nothing online would even come close to fitting. I've done quite a bit of mold making and Carbon Fiber layups etc. my other hobby is scratch built giant scale RC aircraft. (don't ask where I find the time)

Update? It's been more than a year since the last post. How goes it?

Agreed! How’s this restoration going. Looks like you did a lot of essential work to make her a clean, solid build from the get go :)

Let’s see her with some shoes and a dress hahah

To allow these 18" wheels enough travel I had to cut the wheel arches larger .

I started shaping the fenders using 1/4" pvc board and expanding foam. I used a hot glue gun to keep the pvc board in place

At this stage I'm applying body filler and blending in the edges, then its primer, wax and pull a mold off of it .

Hi guys,
I've finally managed to get back on to this project after a long period of doing nothing. The rear body kit was primed ready for wet sanding to take out any of the smaller pin holes and imperfections.

After looking at what I created something didn't look right. I decided to leave it alone and have a think of what was wrong. Then while sitting in traffic I noticed that pretty much every car on the road carries a flat section along the lip of the wheel opening and I knew at that point what was looking odd on my body kit. So I went back at it and shaped a flat spot along the opening as well as extended the vent openings which I think really gave it some character. What do you guys think ?
