Motor came in, sitting on my truck. Clutch, timing belt and downpipe are in. Most of the harness is out of the car but boy it's a PITA to get it out. Hopefully sending it off before Sunday to Doug at Wiregap then Lazarus is paying Tecker a visit 8)

I can't believe I said I'd keep this stock.

Would it be possible to get a photo of the crank angle sensor on the Gen 4 motor? Does it hook into the oil pump like some of the camry motors do?

Cars about 150 miles away from me, I'll see if we can get a few pics when the timing cover is off for the belt / water pump / pulley bearing replacements.

Tecker putting in some work. Car is on the lift, motor is out. Getting a pretty good overhaul with some much needed part replacements.

All new hoses ordered for obvious reasons, new belts, new axels, new... everything that wears down. Doug from Wiregap has the harness and is rushing it back to Tecker. ACT clutch (street disk) ordered with pressure plate... gen 4 is getting timing belt, water pump, idle bearings.

Oh yeah, had issues with an order from Redline 360, so I wouldn't recommend ordering from them. Decent communication but sketchy sales.

Anybody have experience with the KO racing street brawler kit? We might toss it on there for some decent whp.

Alikazam is running a KO SB, see project thread viewtopic.php?f=44&t=53920

Will you need to do anything to your fueling to support more power? What's the gen4 ecu good till?

I did stumble across Alikazam's thread before, he chimed in here as well a few times. He's running a gen3 swap with a potential for more much power than he's running currently. Plus the gen 3 motors were built much stronger than the gen 4. Also the street brawler kit he's got is running the precision turbo where as the one Tecker has currently is the T series 46 trim - so we're looking at two pretty different setups.

IIRC gen 3/4/5 injectors are rated at 540cc rather than the stocker gen 1/2 at 440cc but I have a supra TT fuel pump installed in the tank (page 2 in thread), so the pump should be more than sufficient for the 300-325whp area I want to land at. I installed the Supra TT pump instead of aftermarket performance because of the stock fit, also the need not to run stronger / dedicated circuit for a HPFP. If I were shooting for anything above 350whp I would be installing HKS or greater injectors.

As for the gen4 ecu, I'm not sure but the car is going to get tuned.

Edit: good read here:

edit 2 here's the kit in question:

Ignore the oil filter. A Duie Pyle decided to play bumper cars with the motor

awesome! thank for sharing that. looks like 36 teeth and it is indeed the crankshaft gear that drives the timing belt. I always wondered why Toyota put the gen1-3 crank sensors in the distributor and just not directly on the crank.

No problem!

Might as well share the rest Tecker took before it goes in. Before timing belt, water pump, pulleys and oil filter then after. Also the wiring conversion done by Wiregap.

KO street brawler mockup with gen 4 3sgte motor fitment with the stock TMIC for that clean look. FMIC in the future no doubt, but I like it.

Tecker’s just rockin’ it out! It’s this kinda thing that makes me regret moving west. I won’t be nearby to ask him to do the inevitable motor swap.

For real, he's got some wicked swaps coming.

Got sent this today. She's alive!

Everything is in except the radiator fan and fluids. Had to purchase a Spal 30101522 radiator fan since the stock 4.5" fan hits the KO street brawler turbo. The Spal is recommended over the years in at.net so figured I'd give that a whirl (pun intended). Also purchased some more vacuum line to install since the stockers don't fit the gen4 and they're super brittle. Nearly 300k will do that to anything rubber! Also purchased a Spectre cone air filter since the stock box does not fit.

Tecker absolutely crushing it as usual.

If anybody is interested, I'll put a summary list of parts I had to do in order to gen 4 swap Lazarus. Almost done with this portion... now to annoy Bruce with the rear diff :shoots:

Well figured I'd update:

So after many hours of back and fourth with Tecker, we replaced about every possible hose, line, boot, anything made of rubber or gasket material.
The cost of everything is not for the feint of heart.

Everyone give tons of appreciation to Bruce (Tecker185) for this swap result:

Hood has to be risen (JDM as fuc boi!) in order to compensate for the TMIC for now.

Also, Tecker repaired the seals on the rear diff while at it:

Lots more to come. She feels T H I C C. Going to be stripping the interior at some point and cleaning. 13 years without exercise definitely shows.

More to come.

Well, fukkin’ ay. This is bad to the ass.

As for the cost: Worth every penny I bet. The main issues are having the pennies and finding someone worth giving them to. Both of which you seem to have surmounted!
