WTB: ST185 Drivers Side Gray Leather Seat

Just seeing if anyone has an extra in storage or for parts before I take the car to an upholsterer. I just need a good condition gray leather drivers side seat bottom.

I would have the cloth version available - but not the leather version.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I am definitely going to stay with the gray leather though. I just have one small rip on the center panel of the drivers seat. Otherwise the original leather interior is in excellent condition.

Look for a local upholsterer and see if they can stitch it professionally if it's just a small tear. I replaced my leather with cloth since I hate the OEM leather, (I have a tear as well, but on the bottom seam) but I'm keeping the seat for OEM purposes haha. I got a few quotes on mine, it's not that bad.

90s Toyota leather was awful. Most auto upholstery folks have experience with fixing/replacing their stuff I bet.

Yes, those early 1990 Toyota leather seat covers had a clear vinyl material applied over the leather, and they got very hard with age and cracked apart because of that. All our leather has been replaced at an upholstery shop that made new seats from pure leather of the same original color Toyota had on these cars. The new leather material is far softer & smoother than the original. We had one (a 1992 GT-S) that still had the original OEM leather seating in it with no tears or rips at all - but the seats on it were getting hard. We sold that car to a collector (imagine that, a 1992 Celica that a collector was looking for).

Thanks all. Sounds like I am heading to the upholstery shop!
