Hood insulation on RC

Just wondering if anyone has had issues if they removed their insulation from their RC hood. Are there issues with that air intake on the left hand
side if you take it out?

There have been a number of threads on this.

No issues with removal.

I think that timing belt scoop needs the rubber duct to work properly. So you may have to jerry rig something once the insulation is removed.

Or keep the insulation, and just cut out the 3 vent holes.

many people remove the hood insulation with out issue.
I'm delighted that mine is still intact after 17 years... hence it will stay stock for a while longer ;)

the timing belt scoop and and rubber ducting lead to a blanked off cylinder head. it is 100% non functional.

This one has been answered a few times.

From what I was able to gather, the main purpose of the insulation is sound deadening. So, if you like the sound of the engine, losing the insulation should enhance your driving experience.

Secondly, given the 3SGTE propensity for heat soak, removing the insulation should also help heat dissipation.

Win-win...
