Hey everyone,
I`m trying to piece together some small projects for the st205 that won`t break the bank too much but
still improve the car overall.

I am looking to find some info on where to get some intercooler heat reflection wrap like show here with the
Vader project:

I will be taking the intercooler off to clean it with Petrol so I figure I may as well do this as well =]

Any info would be greatly appreciated =]

That heat reflective cloth isnt anywhere near thick enough, you need at least 2 layers of it minimum, pref 3 to do any good, its expensive and not very effective, what you really need to find is some heat reflective felt like this

http://www.thermotec.com/products/14120 ... rd-fr.html

after extensive research and testing this is the only stuff I found that was worth while, its cheap and effective and provides much better protection against even the hottest engine for alot longer than anything else i have tried. I used it on my standard charge cooler and on my custom charge cooler to great effect.

I work for a blast furnace design company and the heat management engineer recommended it to me...it prooved to be spot on.

insanity - what spray adhesive did you use to paste the felt type wrap onto your intercooler with?

For the main I just used some standard spray contact adhesive. You can use heat resistant contact adhesive if that would make you feel more confident.

For the edges I used alloy tape.

If you overlap the tape by about half its width it trims the edges off nicely and stops the edges of the felt getting wet/dirty.

thanks for info - i'm considering getting the felt wrap to paste over the wrap we already put on.
it's holding up decently but more protection would be nice especially on hot summer days.
