Too bad its not very comparable... I have 272 cams on my built 2.2L WRX motor (w/ oversized valves, port work, high compression, etc.) and its great. Idle is at 825 with no detectable lope, 800 and below starts to lope. I still get good mileage on the highway too - its my daily driver while the Alltrac is down.

Not sure what your doing about smog, but you'll probably have to bump the idle up out of the acceptable range to get a good idle. A few more degrees of timing at idle will also help you out. Other than that, it shouldn't be any more difficult to tune than any other engine.
