JDM ECU vs USDM ECU

It's best to use the ECU and harness that were meant for the engine you have. ie: JDM engine with JDM harness and ECU

It is possible to use any 2nd Gen 3S-GTE ECU with any 2nd Gen engine but there are differences in the sensors/wiring/ECU pinouts between JDM and USDM that make it easiest to use the combination that was originally put together by Toyota.

USDM ECU on a JDM motor would maybe lose you a couple HP, but it might be better for the car if you have to run lower grade fuel.

I run 94 all day erry day, since after conversion I think the US equivalent to the JDM gas the JDM ECU wants is 95 or something.

Close enough then lol. Wouldn't cause any seriouse damage would it. Like cause rings to go or headgasket to blow ;)
