Upgrade Turbo??

Postby JFK » Fri Aug 20, 2004 11:45 pm

Does anyone know what turbo would be a good upgrade from the stock one on a ST165? I don't need 3000hp but something that would not effect the reliability of my engine (perferably a ballbearing turbo).Plus it should mate with a Aussie DP.

Thing to consider, the only turbos that mate with Aussie downpipe are CT26 and CT20b.

i think you are stuck upgrading the 1 gen turbo. the ct20b will not fit the 165 Aussie downpipe(4studs ct26, 7studs ct20b).

If you're brave...have a welder cut the flange off the aussie dp, and weld a corresponding flange for your new turbo. a new flange can be made/created from the gasket that should come with the turbo you buy.

I wouldn't recommend any of this by the way...only if you're really really wanting to!

It's pricey but 935motorsports sells a bolt-on, hybrid ct26/t4 for the 165 and it's available with a ball-bearing center section. More info at: http://935motorsports.com/catalog/produ ... cts_id=292
