I've seen people talking about straight and T pipes but don't know what they're talking about aside from stuff before the air goes in :doh: I've got a while before I have to think about these things, but it's good to know anyways. Thanks for humoring the simple question

Probably T-hose.
Basically, T-hose is used when install a BOV on our car.
Instead of welding the flang on the IC pipe like this

You can put a T-hose there and mount the BOV on it.

Straight intake replaces the stock intake pipe.
You will need to relocate the battery to the trunk or move it backward.
It will give you more space in the engine bay (ie. for FMIC purpose)
You will get better throttle response.
