I'd like to see what pressures people have been running on their stock motors.

Please respond as follows

Year, Model, miles on motor
PSI
How many miles at this psi
mods
failures

You can consider changed headgeasket as stock motor, just dont forget to list it as a mod. For all of you who have modified bottom/top ends, this poll is not for you.
Lets see what we got!!!

mine:

88, 165, 100,000
stock(6-8psi)
Its been at this pressure for the whole 200 miles that I have owned it.
intake exhaust upgraded turbo
none yet
sweet car, want to make it faster, want to know whos running what without a rebuild and what problems they have had

1993, Alltrac, 205k
11-12ish (depends on temperature)
Since i've owned the car (around 25k miles ago)
SSQV BOV, XS Power DP, Motoria 3" exhaust, ACT Street Disc clutch and ACT Heavy Duty pressure plate
I've overhauled motor basically with rod bearings, all seals/gaskets, hg, hoses, vac lines, timing belt, with usual tune ups
This PSI run is without a boost controller.

comments :
ran 11 psi very reliably for 9 months, then decided to up it to 15, and it died.
suggestion: don't run more than 12 on a stock motor.

1988 ST165, miles on motor unknown (JDM rev2 motor)

18psi (20psi peak) for 1500-2000miles about.

swap, tubular mani, borg/IHI GM-3 turbo, tial gate, 2.5" down and back, straight intake, 2.5" piped FMIC.

Knock sensor problem for the last 500miles, have yet to fix it.

1988, st165, 46,xxx mi.

on average around 12-14psi... no boost controller just open midpipe

prob about 2k mi on this psi

twin entry swap, straight intake, 3" d/p and m/p, upgraded h/e, constant pump mod....

i am planning on getting an exhaust in hopes to lower it to 10-12psi

'91 ST185, 2nd gen JDM engine with ~50k on it.

15 psi street (93 octane), 22 psi race/rally (100 octane).

~10,000 @ 15 pounds, probably ~750-1000 at 22.

Mods: JDM computer, tweaked base fuel pressure, Denso Supra TT pump, RC cleaned/flowed 440's (~452cc), CT27 w/ Forge actuator, BayArea 3" TMIC, SSQV, AVC-R, JUN cam gears (-4 ex. +1 in.), K&N FPIK, KO 2.5" DP, 3" Motoria, Innovative wideband. Various other crap.

Failures: Nothing so far, at least related to the engine. I did have a CT27 toss an oil seal, but ATS replaced it, because ATS rocks.

Comments: My goal with the car is to squeeze as much as possible out of a stock engine, CT26 housing and (mostly) stock fuel system, with sacrificing reliability.

So far, it's been very fun, pretty quick and given me no trouble.

88 165 with about 70K on JDM 2nd Gen motor.
15 psi daily driven, for over 15K now.
Mods include Garett Gt28rs turbo, 205 intercooler, Full 3inch exhaust, and just recently I installed a water injection kit. I may bump it up to 17psi for track use.
No failures, but i've had to do a lot of maintanece like radiator, axles, alternator etc.
Quick and relatively reliable, I freaking love it.

88, st165, 1st gen. jdm w/ +-50k
aprx.16, 1.1 bar
about 10k @ 1.1
k&n oem replacement, MBC, intercooler pump constant run, bigger heat exchanger for ATW-stock core, primary cat is gutted.
no boost related failures yet, was missing because of old plugs but thats it.
this car is smooth and fast, i use Redline 20w50 synthetic oil i recommend this for all turbo cars, its designed for them.
