Lessee here, as far as other All-tracs go:
Camry AT: The typical 4-door sedan given, essentially, an ST165 drivetrain. Gearing is different inside the tranny, but the tranny is bolt-on to the GT-Fours. Engine is a 3SFE, if I'm not mistaken. Most were manual, but a very few had slushboxes.
Corolla AT: I'm not entirely sure about the drivetrain similarities on the Corolla versus the GT-Fours. I nearly bought one about a year ago, and they seem like pretty nice haulers, though.
Previa AT: I'm not sure about these, either, but the aupercharged ones are the only forced-induction AT you're going to find outside of a 'Four(at least unless someone slams a 3S in a Camry AT).

Yup.

Probably.

The manual had an electric locking diff. Not sure if it was the same
as the ST165 ? Doubtful you'd want to bolt it up.

Most were Auto, very, -Very few were manual.
They were supposed to be family cars, and
families drive autos.
I have Never seen a
manual AT Camry.
Still wondering if they ever made a wagon AT ?
Never seen one, curious though.

Hehe... I stand corrected. I don't think they made a Camry AT wagon, but I think the Corolla AT was only in a wagon trim, kind of like those old Tercel 4WD wagons. I've only seen a couple floating around(nearly bought one of 'em that was almost mint), so it leads me to believe that any AT besides the Previa vans(I see those suckers everywhere around here) are kinda rare.

I've seen a corolla all-trac for sale around here and one on ebay. There was a manual all-trac camry for sale around town too but i didn't get to drive it b/c the battery was totally dead; I was hoping to compare the gearing of that box and the ST-185

they had manual all-trac Camrys in 88 and 89. Not 90 or 91 AFAIK. Not that rare...they come up every now and again. Ideal for a 3S-GTE obviously.

The switch is to disable the awd for towing.
Not to be used for daily driving. But I have done it.
It does not disengage the center diffs.
> dont know about 5spd manual.
There are some around.
A few have been converted to All_trac turbo & 5spd.
