does anyone know where there is a good mech. that knows how to work on our cars and also a really good tuner? im talking about in socal.

Integrity Auto in pasadena specializes in mr2's, but their mechanical work seems to be hit or miss. Personally, I wouldn't chance it.
Honestly, I've come to the conslusion that if you really want good work, you just have to be willing to pay through the nose at a boutique shop. Like $75-$150 an hour. Something like XS Engineering, SP engineering, Twins Turbo, RB Motoring etc. Good luck getting an appointment.
I almost forgot, you could try Berk, They are mr2 specialists. Really Berk is the only reputable mr2 specialist in socal that I know of. But that isn't saying much since there are so few mr2 specialists.
Honestly, I hate mechanics. The cheap ones will fuck up your car, and then blame the car, or you. The expensive ones will look down on you unless you throw gobs of cash at them. And even then, unless you are an important name in "the scene" may try to screw you.
I'm not sure "reputable garage" isn't an oxymoron.
