185 ecu in a 165

Ok I have done some reading in the efi section and I believe that I can swap my 165 ecu for a gen 2 ecu from a 185 or mr2. I have found someone to make the adapter harness for me. I just wanted to double check and see if I need to do anything else to run this ecu. I got a killer deal on ebay for the ecu and the wire harness isnt a big deal either. Just want to double check. Any help would be excellent!

make sure its made to go in to Mr2 ecu. the mr2s pin outs are different then the 185.

i will be doing this also once i get an ecu. whatever i can find cheaper an mr2 or 185.

kewl! sweet guys thanks for the info. When I get the ecu in the mail I will google its id numbers and that should tell which it is from.

that's cool, what are other benefits by switching to 185 ecu? curious... you raise the stock fuel cut by doing this also yes?
