Possible to clean wheel speed sensors?

I just got the rear end back together on the ST165 I've been working on and now it seems like the ABS tries to kick I. Any time I brake and get down to like 3mph. I hear this is the speed sensor, is it possible to clean them up as they were pretty ratty looking when I took them out. What kind of cleaner should I use? Brake cleaner was what I was thinking.

as much as people say "clean your WSS", i never have had good luck with that. HOWEVER, sometimes due to rust forming, the gap can change between the sensor and the reluctor wheel... The best way to do it is get a multi meter and hook it up to each sensor, spin the wheel and see if its producing a signal.

...but yes, brake clean and a wire brush would be sooper also.
