Hello, guys!

First of all - sorry my english)

We have Toyota Caldina with 3S-GTE engine and E150F gearbox.
This car using for drag racing and know we searching for close ratio gear set.
Can we take short aftermarket gears and input shaft from mr2(E153) and put it in our E150F tranny? Is they are the same?

I believe you can. The dog gearsets that are made are used in both MR2 and Celica applications

I am not a gearbox specialist, if someone knows about gear place swap
Now i know
we can't swap gear position on both shaft, ID for 3rd (drive) is different from 4th (drive) and synchromesh system is diffrent from 3rd to 4th (driven this time)

But a X ratio from an Exxx gearbox will fit the same place on other Exxx gearbox, it only a matter of spacer to be at the right place.

We could either take ratio from 185, 185 CS, 205, rav4, VZV30 camry 4WD, only matter is the ratio is for an Exxx gearbox

Not that I know of. The thread I linked is the closest I've seen to anyone modifying the gearset with factory parts from other cars. Apart from that, people just go straight to dog gearset

Dog gearbox much stronger that stock and much better for drag, but i think it`s problematic in street use. If E-series gearbox are interchangeable by gears, you can build short gearbox with very little cost compared with dog gearbox and other aftermarket close ratio gear sets, theoretically.
