Anyone know in the first set of pictures. The first picture, where I can attach a transmission cooler if this transmission will pump fluid itself or do I need a pump. It's bypassed by a loop line now?

Looks like you got an MR2 transmission. Hopefully you can use your shifter parts on it to convert it to FWD-style selectors, otherwise you will need to get parts of a busted Alltrac trans.

The fluid is pumped through that cooling loop driven from the differential. On the Alltrac/GT4 it goes to a factory cooler that is about 3"x10". From there, the cooled fluid is sprayed onto the synchros (how many depends on trans version/year).

It is low pressure, so anything will work. The MR2 guys generally don't even add a cooler, even the high horsepower guys... The Alltrac/GT4 has a factory cooler due to the hypoid gears in the transfer case adding extra heat to the transmission (shares the same gear oil).

The threads into the transmission are M14x1.5 if you want to change to AN fittings out of the trans.

You might want to find out the line length and capacity of the alltrac unit. There was a post around here not long ago saying if you go too large it will be ineffective due to pump size. You might even consider just using the alltrac's oem cooler.

Alltrac/GT4s have to run a GL5 rated fluid due to the hypoid gears (severely limiting choices). You can run any GL4 or GL5 fluid since you are running the trans as a 2WD unit. Get whatever you like - the trans is essentially bulletproof... unless it is in an MR2 lifting the front end off the ground, at which point it start breaking the splines in the diff. Alltrac guys break the transfer case or center differential which you don't have.

Obviously you can tell the difference in the gearsets no wonder it's stronger. Btw we are modifying the differential pump relief valve and making it higher pressure.

How much power can the OEM LSD handle? bolting up the transmission is definitely going to be fun, its not exactly a direct bolt on. The front side mount will work and the top transmission mount will work, the rear mount is definitely will have to be fabbed. Clutch is fine, passenger axle is fine, the driver axle will be frankinstiened. lol. As progress continues I will update. The shift linkage will be custom. I am taking mine from my E-350 modifying it to fit the E153 and will be on the right side of the transmission as I need. I have to drill one hole in it for a bracket and cut a grove for the external c clip. I will post pictures later.

Do you have MR2 axle stubs? At least, the inner for driver's side? Go get an Alltrac front outer axle (or an '88-'91 V6 Camry axle) and see if the splines fit your hubs - they should (5x100 hubs). You can also just get a complete (from the junkyard) Camry V6 (auto or manual trans, doesn't matter) axle for test fitting and the inner stub. Then you just need a spacer between the inner and outer section to get the length correct. Probably only 1/2", as the Camry of that generation has a 1.2" and the Celica Alltrac is 1" narrower track width than the Scion.

Nothing custom beside the spacer, which isn't a wear item anyway...

I know a place to buy cheap new axles, I'm removing the tripod and using the shell only with my dss axles. The driver inner tripod splines are longer than my tCs. The passenger axle is perfect. Since I have DSS axles the outer splines and hubs are different, larger bore.

Test fitment. Two mounts bolt perfect, one has to be made. I'm taking shift linkage to a machine shop to modify so it will fit this transmission on the right side. Need to manufacture shift linkage bracket. Need to get both axle stubs.

Need more information please. I can search for a E153 transmission and can find the different cars that came with it. The issue I'm having is finding the correct axles. I have a E153 from a 94 Toyota MR2 turbo LSD, Right hand drive. Would a rhd actually make a difference on the axles? Pic to follow
