Are you not feeding water to the turbo? I like how clean your clock bracket looks, just wondering what your water line solution was. Congrats on the start up, that part is always fun.

Thanks, that bracket took me 2 days to make :p
Im not running water lines, it'll be oil cooled only.
I won't be running this ct20b too long, so it's a bit of an experiment to see how it looks after 12 months.

I got the first coats of colour on the guards done yesterday.
Not too bad i dont think for my first go at 2pk colour spraying :)
The colour is Lexus LFA Whitest white.

A little while since my last update...

Car has been on the road for ~3 weeks now :)
Lots of minor issues to solve, but nothing big.

A photo from a car cruise yesterday....

So this is my old 1977 RA28 Celica (1UZ powered) that has not been touched in about 6yrs :(
I bought some good suspension stuff for it thats just been wasting away, so why not use it on the GT4 :)

Will try to make this stuff fit together.
Thats a Koni 8611-1259 RACE damper, ST185 front strut, coilover steel sleeve kit, and 300LB/in spring.
eNpdjFELgjAQgP_K2Ht6WxpyPhoFQSDYu6xlOVpOtglF9N-bqA91T_d9x30CM3w7XCPtlaS5w02C9Cjs3cWFsKRUMiyNVlKQ6sSyNObAkhWDFeNkZ03nSeXt4F28rYoaeArRodyPnZC5Kq1prhACpkilkG0zMpvYt8PjvNwZ0uf8xgCATur1r4LT5mZqaWzX2CWWzbaXnuYXhCiB3-H55wtu40D_.jpg

The Koni insert is a tad too long, so i cut/ground the bottom out of the strut.
eNpdjFELgjAQgP_K2Ht6WxpyPhoFQSDYu6xlOVpOtglF9N-bqA91T_d9x30CM3w7XCPtlaS5w02C9Cjs3cWFsKRUMiyNVlKQ6sSyNObAkhWDFeNkZ03nSeXt4F28rYoaeMqjQ7kfOyFzVVrTXCEETJFKIdtmZDaxb4fHebkzpM_5jQEAndTrXwWnzc3U0tiusUssm20vPc0vCFECv8PzzxdwFUEB.jpg

Damper inserted, with the gland nut 3/4 done up at the other end.
The screw slot on the bottom is compression adjustment (rebound adjust is on the top).

New bottom plate that will be welded on when all is verified as working ok.

Expensive, but shitty MadDat strut top that has a major design fault. It uses the wrong type of bearing which flogs out quickly.
eNpdjMEKgkAQQH9F5p7ObhrLeDQKgkCwu2yb5dKmsq5QRP_einqoOc17wzxJgt49rQk6rSDtaRMTHKW991EmbZBr5ZfKaCWD4sREEnFk8YrhivFgZ9vGBYWzg-ujbZGVyBMRHvL92PGZqzYGUk3oMSFQUtXVyGxiVw-P83JnBM_5jSEiTOr1r7wz7a0tVWubyi4xMdtOOUgvhGGMv8PTzxdzq0EH.jpg

The T3 strut tops ill use instead, set at full caster.

Just enough room to be able to access the compression adjuster underneath.

All mock installed for testing sleeve locations.

Looks like it'll all work great 8)

All done and working brilliantly.
100x better than the old progressive lowering springs and KYB ExcelG inserts.

The soft'ish springs and adjustable digressive compression damping means the car handles like the springs are stiff, but i can hit big bumps, potholes, etc and they soak em up as if the springs are soft.

Thanks :)

Im using crash bolts.
I dont need much static camber (next wheel align ill set 2deg) as i have a decent amount of caster.

MWP

New member
Finally got a wheel align done today.... look'n good :)
Another pair of crash bolts on the back for more rear camber, and a little more caster at the front and i'll be happy.

I was aiming for:
Front: 0mm toe, 2.5deg camber, ~5deg caster.
Rear: 2mm toe, 2.5deg camber.
... its pretty close other than the rear camber.

Yeah, logs are recorded to the SD card inserted in the MS3.
Video overlay is done with RaceRender.

I got some details off the front of a 185 rally car using tte top hats, lower arms, and spindles.
caster 6.15' camber -2.45'
Might be good test data. From the looks of it, their top hats and lower arms both have built in caster.

MWP

New member
Thats the same data that i have got ;)

Moving the lower arm is the next thing to do... not quite as easy as moving the top mount.

CMS-GT4

It actually might be. I was talking to an old rally head in the US and he claims he uses the tte mounts on the stock a-arm and it increases caster. I am waiting for a reply from Wever to see what he says and I am thinking that will be the solution to move the arm instead of getting a custom a-arm made. Of course that is pending cost.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are some eccentric poly mounts made for a different car that would fit.
