165 won't keep idle and killing batteries

Anyone have ideas?

I've changed 3 alternators with no difference in idle.

Ideas please

Have you confirmed the charge is getting from the alt to the battery (it battery reading 14V while running)? The 100A charge fuse might be bad.

No I haven't. Don't know how to do that. I use a multimeter?

Yeah when running the battery should be at the same voltage as the alternator output. Alternately you can measure the resistance between the battery positive and the alternator output, it should be a short between them.

Turned to be a faulty alt fuse. Was welded to the board and we replaced it a bit sobehow.
