how do you clean a maf sensor on st185?

Hello world,
so, i have a maf sensor problem. now my car wont idle for more than a minute. i tried cleaning the maf out with maf cleaner. no luck. wondering if there is anything more i can do. i hear that the 3sgte have very sensitive sensor.

Thanks for the response. So to clarify, there is no maf, but something called a afm. And it would cause problems like vacuum leak if broken?

So best solution is to replace and no fix. Thanks

I wouldn't say that.

The AFM is just a spring-loaded flapper (technically called a vane), connected to a variable resistor. They are pretty robust and not at all as temperamental as a MAF of any variety. It's possible that the resistive element could wear out and cause issues, but it's certainly not a common problem. If you can find one to borrow, that's worth trying, but I would be surprised if it actually solved the problem.

If you are having issues that are symptomatic of a vacuum leak, I would suggest looking harder for the vacuum leak.
