Custom Dashboard Gauge Holder

Postby spcmarti85 » Sat Aug 18, 2018 3:21 am

Hi everyone,
I think this is my first topic to post here so forgive my noobness if I show any :P

I recently designed a dashboard gauge holder for my car using 3D software and my 3D printer. So I just want to see if anyone would be interested in wanting one as well.

Below are some pics of my process in making it. You can check out more pictures on my Instagram @oculite

The cool thing about 3D printing it is that I can customize the configuration of the gauges whether you want a space for your turbo timer, boost controller, missile launching switch, etc. etc. etc. :P

All feed back is welcome! Good Bad and Ugly - I challenge you to hurt my feeling!!!

Looks good, nice work!
I’d consider it, but it would need to be RHD.

I was working on the same idea but with a more traditional fabrication process but since you already nailed it I would be interested in buying one.

Yea I basically just mirror the design in the 3D software then print it.

I have a 165 but that is an awesome piece of work. 3D printing is the way of the future

What do you figure the price point would be?

So I'm thinking $55 plus shipping for the raw print (first and second picture).
I'm not the greatest upholstery technician or whatever you call it. This was actually the first time I wrapped anything with fabric so I'm not sure about selling a fully finished and wrapped/painted product. If I did it would be more in the $110-$140 range.

Sounds pretty decent, what’s the size of the gauge pods?

The one you see here has 52mm gauges. I recently made another one with 60mm gauges though.
