hood struts for st185?

Has anyone installed hood struts for the ST185 VIS CF hood, or know what models/generic struts might fit? I want to do away with the lift rod, but more importantly, the apparent warping of the hood since the CF is flexible enough it appears to droop to one side when lifted by only the rod on one side.

:rofl: I too have a CF hood and have noticed the same! This would be neat to accomplish!

What? Don't they have broken hockey sticks in California?!
They're the go-to solution for any Canuck gearhead in situations like that.
But seriously, someone must have a solution for this floppy CF hood issue.

My buddies son is in a youth hockey league, I asked him if he'd get me a broken stick (carbon if possible) :)

I think one member adapted tein rx8 hood struts many years ago. It may be worth searching around the forums.
