1990 Celica All-Trac Turbo ECU Part#

I am trying to source a spare ECU for my 1990 Celica All-Trac Turbo US Spec. What is/are the part # or #s that are compatible? Also, does the one from the MR2 Turbo work for the Celica Turbo?

Finally is anyone willing to sell me a working one?

The correct ECU for a USDM ST185 from 1990-1991 is 89661-20761. While we have a working spare, we also have two ST185's, and due to how scarce these are, we aren't wanting to sell our spare. Out two ST185's are all stock, so the OEM ECU is still needed for them.

The correct ECU for a USDM MR2 w/3S-GTE engine is:
- 89661-17330 (from 1/1990 thru 2/1990)
- 89661-17331 (from 3/1990 thru 12/1990)

I can't tell you what is different between an ST185 & an MR2 ECU. Don't know.

I'm thinking someone on this forum may have a spare they maybe don't need after changing out the OEM ECU to an aftermarket ECU involving a fuel control modification made. Hopefully someone has one and is willing to sell it.

There were a few folks selling ST185 parts in this forum over the past month or so. Check the for sale adds in this forum - maybe someone is selling an OEM ECU. Actually, the person on this thread is selling an ST185 ECU - but I think is wanting to sell it has part of a package with more items:

Yes an mr2 ecu works.

I think you can use an MR2 ECU in an ST185 but you cant use an ST185 ECU in an MR2?

Make sure you have the correct revision though. There are 2 different ones and they don't cross over.

Thanks guys. According to the above link, part #s 89661-20760, 89661-20761 or 89661-2B290 will work for my 1990 All-Trac. There are a couple of vendors on EBAY that claim to have these in stock. I am skeptical as to whether or not they actually have them in stock due to the rarity of this car.

Has anyone sourced one through one of these EBAY vendors (fs1inc or
allcomputerresources) ?

According to toyodiy:

- 89661-20760: Used only on 1990=1991 ST-185's for the USA & CND
- 89661-20761: Superseded 89661-20760: Used for same vehicles as 89661-20760
- 89661-2B290: Superseded 89661-20761: Used for same vehicles as 89661-20761

So your source was right that either of these 3 ECU P/N's should work for your application.

allcomputerresources on ebay says they have 10 of these available. Has a perfect record on reviews. Wonder why one cost $199.00 while another cost $320.00 (everything else between those two listings is identical).

fs1inc on ebay also says they have 10 of these available. Has a 99.9% review record (close to perfection). Looks like what they have are all the same price ($239.00).

I'm surprised that they have 10 of these refurbished and available. It might be wise to contact one of them and ask them to send you pictures of the actual ECU you would be getting. At least then you will know how close it resembles an original ECU and if it has the same harness connection ports.

I looked briefly on ebay to see what prices are currently. . Be careful, some of those ECUs on ebay that they have listed for an AllTrac are most definitely not correct. Check your PMs, I sent you a message on the 8th.
