Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new owner (well got my Turbo4wd/Alltrac) 2 months ago. She needs work (rust) so I've started to take things apart to try and address it and stop what I can.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll need help with some of the stuff. I was struggling with the speedometer cable removal from the dash. I didn't want to apply too much force as I'm afraid of breaking something. Managed to go to my local pick and pull and practice on a GTS that was there :). I used a lot of force and it I didn't break the one I practiced on (the plastic is quite playable). Came home and did the same.
I wonder why Toyota didn't bother to paint or galvanize the metal parts behind the dash and all the dash brackets. They just left it as is. I'm thinking of doing a DIY zinc plating on the smaller brackets and painting the larger ones.
