Hey all, so the nerd in me is starting to gain some power and well tooling to do some real stupid stuff. I wanted to keep track of it and well inform you guys as well. I am reaching the last years of my degree and having finally reached places that permit me to build and expand my own abilities. Moreover with FSAE I have had to design basically all suspension and vehicle dynamic systems and as such I now have a much deeper understanding of how to go faster. So here the main goals and ideas behind this thread
Document and log projects and their design paths:
I wanted to keep a log outside of paper of how each of these things are designed and how. Input is appreciated as well! I hope that this can not only be enjoyable to read but be informative or even assist you in all your projects.
Outreach, portfolio, and exposure
You can never be seen too much for good work. As such why not show it off.
Input/Requests
I enjoy building things, but I also enjoy seeing how others would too. Even more so how other may see useful features or other devices that can be used to achieve certain goals. Please post your custom stuff too! I will be consistently posting what I'm building, how its going, and how I'm doing it. Engineering math and numbers included. Moreover if you would like something similar and I am more than happy to take on any challenge.
So to begin here is my current work order of "racecar" stuff
HillClimb Car: Hayabusa V8 TT: Charger Cooler
I ended up helping build the charge cooler for a v8 TT hayabusa car. Packaging is tight. All this project was really was generating end thanks for a core (2nd image top radiator) and the throttle plate that then bolts to the intake runners and fuel injectors. Super fun to do with some tricky geometry but really no numbers beyond "good enough"

B58 MK5 Supra head Strengthen
My boss dailies a mk5 supra. Nice right? Yea it makes like 600 something and runs 9's for fun. Anyways he wants confident 1300hp one day and he said the head will always split. This was to prevent that. What we did was cut the head ports in the CNC, then made inserts. Welded in those inserts and re faced the head. Other shops that have done this ran north of 1400 and still lived. We shall see once he's done building the motor what happens. Good project, force me to get pretty good with the CNC and CAM but it worked in the end.

FSAE Stuff
Right now a lot of stuff is being revised so I can't do much or post much. Here in the summer though we will begin to manufacture so I'll have plently to share. Right now I have some CAD of roll centers, camber delta, and roll camber deltas. Fun numbers.

Current Celica Progress (ST185)
As of now I am still working on the tweeters, haven't had much time but I promise I'll get em done. Carbon is a time consuming process. Updates will be here though. I did do an adapter that is metal as opposed to that rubber trash for the intercooler to throttle body. OEM is 47mm, mine is 60mm. Throttle body is 58mm. Factory restriction, thanks Toyota. I also have done custom control arms which can be found here. Rather than doing individual posts though from now on it will all be here. I'll make exceptions as they come though for more in-depth ideas and discussion. Along that custom battery box. fits right by the engine mount. Nothing special.

Next Projects:
Aerodynamic Kit; fender vents, undertray, diffuser, etc. I want to do a SSIII body kit though so I'll need that too before beginning on that.
Roll center Correction; Likely OEM replaced ball joint with a spherical bushing. Should be easy enough, just gotta run the numbers
Carbon strut bar; I'll take measurements next week during the nice weather and CAD something up.
Anyways let me know what you think and where you'd like to see this go
