The EFI fuse in the main fuse box beside the battery melted and really gummed up the contacts to where things needed to be repaired. I have a spare 184 fuse box that I was hoping I could steal contacts from to try to repair it and found something even better. After unplugging it from the cars harness I noticed the plugs on the bottom are the same for both boxes, so I could just put the 184 box into the 185 except I'd have to rework the intake piping or move the fuse box to make it all clear.

Then I noticed that the inner section of the fuse box is actually modular and the same between both of them, it's just the outer shell and the high current sections that are different.

Here's the old one removed from the housing. Note the melted section at the top left.

Here's a not melted 184 inner section.

The plastic slides off allowing access to the actual contacts that the fuses plug into. They're removable as well which is nice if any are damaged or dirty but I don't know how to find the part numbers.

Here's the bare 185 outer shell. You can see the 3 holes near the top where the tabs are that hold the insert into the housing. There are 3 at the bottom as well. I was able to flex it enough to pop the old insert out of the 185 housing but the 184 was so tight I ended up just breaking the 184 housing into pieces since I didn't need it anyways. You can also see the tabs at the top and bottom of the high current section that hold it in as well.

And here it is with the 184 insert in the 185 shell. Everything plugged back in no problem and the car was driving again.
