Shifters are key. Monachopsis is pretty certain that I have a TRD shifter in Roreri, based on what he's felt of them, which I did not know. I've just always thought it nice. My MR2 has the SuperKlasse short shifter, and it's also notchy and toight like a toiger.Yep, I'm bringing this thread back from the dead to quote myself. Been thinking about a shifter for the "new" st165, and honestly couldn't remember what I had in my old one. I thought I had either a 6th gen or 7th gen shifter in the st165. I have no memory of the TWM trade that I mention. Old man brain. I mean...I sort of remember as I read it, but zero details have emerged from the depths of my memory (so many cobwebs). Of course, getting a TWM is no longer an option anyway.
I guess I'll look for an st204 shifter. I have a generic short shifter that was in my zzt231 when I bought it...but I removed it because I didn't like it. So there's no reason to try to put it in the st165. I need to get some shifter cable bushings as well. Shifts feel a bit sloppy right now.
SuperKlasse offers a C's/TRD Hybrid Short Shifter for the 6th/7th Gen Celica that might be adaptable or even just work for you:

SuperKlasse has some other interesting stuff as well, like cuts of repro era-nostalgic Recaro confetti cloth for reupholstering your seats and such.
